He was in his early twenties and had just been released from prison after serving his sentence for a felony. He had no support and no job and no money. He was remorseful for what he had done and sought out counseling from CFS. He could not afford it, so we provided him with free counseling sessions. We never turn anyone away based on their ability to pay.

Over the course of the next few sessions, we explored the destructive thinking patterns and habits that lead to his arrest. We considered ways to support himself. We reframed his past hurts and re-imagined his future. He started a house washing business with a very small loan from a friend and slowly built a way to support himself in his new life.
