Ava* has been a counseling client at CFS for 10 years. She is a young adult in her mid-thirties now and with multiple diagnosis (Anxiety, Depression, Schizophrenia). Ava has overcome numerous hurdles in her life including; self-harm history, assault and alongside the severe symptoms from her mental health diagnosis. Ava remains diligent in counseling over the years (particularly through COVID), often bringing family members to a session, and her husband once they married. Ava has done tremendous therapeutic work to manage severe mental health symptoms, endured several hospitalizations and learned to collaborate well with psychiatrists. Ava is fully functioning now, works full time and started her own side cleaning business. She enjoys married life and active with new hobbies. Ava is a walking miracle — a blessing to walk alongside and witness all her progress over the past decade.
