Established in 1973, Christian Family Services has been a beacon of hope in our community for over five decades. As a licensed, not-for-profit child welfare agency, we are governed by the laws of Missouri and Illinois, ensuring a high standard of care for all we serve. What started as a simple question became a large tree of services for those who need it. That question posed by Joann Carter in 1973 was, “What more can we do for children and families in St. Louis?” More than 50 years later, we have our answer. We are still trying to do and serve more.
Our Mission
Christian Family Services strives to Love, Serve, Empower, and Connect children, families, and individuals within our community, through Adoption, ConnectCare, Selah Living, Pregnancy Support, and Professional Counseling.
We are a large tree of services that provides shade for the weary traveler. A tree provides shade without judgement and never judges the weary traveler for what they believe, what they have done, or where they have been.
