About Us

I (Kayla) am the third of four siblings and have always wanted to have a big family with lots of kids. I thoroughly believe that siblings can make the best of friends and cannot imagine a life without them. Although I did not necessarily “plan” on single parenting, after moving back to the southeast Missouri region for a job as a dietitian, I felt like life was too comfortable. I soon became a licensed foster parent and now (3 years later) have two fabulous forever kids that were adopted through foster care.

As a family, we love being outside! It doesn’t matter if it’s a park, a walking trail, or just the backyard. We will (again) try our hands at a small garden and be thrilled if we can grow even one fruit or vegetable. I think intentional, hands-on parenting is super important, and I want my kids to experience me being there for them. We love bonfires and pizza Friday and movie nights together and going to church and spending time with family and friends. They get most excited when Nana and Papa visit or when we go to their house.

At the end of the day, I just want to be doing life with the people I love. Loving the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and loving our neighbor as ourselves. ~Mark 12:30 & 31

Our Message To You

I can only imagine how difficult this decision is for you. I don’t exactly know what to say.

Please know I am praying that the “peace of the Lord that goes beyond understanding will guard your heart and mind” always. Thank you for taking the time to read our profile and even considering our family as a possible placement for your baby. I know that our family does not look like most… A single mom with two adopted kids?! Who does that? But when I stop to think about it, I cannot imagine anything I would rather do in life than provide a home and be a family for kids whose biological families could not do so, for whatever reason. I will make sure that your child knows how much (s)he is loved by you and cherished and wanted; that adoption does not cut one family off from another but rather expands family.

Thank you is both not enough and all that I have to give you.
