Sept 2020
Directors Message
It is hard to believe that fall is here! I will have to admit, September, 2020 is not like any other September! So many people affected by this pandemic! At CFS, many things have changed, many haven’t. As I thing about the things that haven’t changed, there are two things that stand out.
One is our faithful supporters. Without people like you, we would not be able to continue to meet many needs of children and families. Your love, generosity, and compassion allows us to continue God’s work.
Without people like you, we would not be able to continue to meet many needs of children and families.
The second thing, God is moving here! As we have adapted our outreach, we see God at work! We are so thankful for your faithfulness and God’s faithfulness as we continue to move forward! We continue to adapt and roll out our new plans to meet the pressing needs and to be a light in our communities! Here are a couple of exciting things to remember as we move forward!
Our Virtual Vision of Hope Night is September 18th at 7:00 p.m. During September, we are usually getting things ready for our biggest fundraiser of the year, our annual Vision of Hope Dinner. As you might expect, we have to adapt! We will have 45 minutes of inspiration, entertainment and videos telling the stories of those that have been impacted by the work you have helped in the past through your donations. We hope you will join us from the comfort of your own home!
Like our dinner, we will be celebrating what God has done and continues to do at CFS. We will also raise funds to help us continue with God’s work. Our goal is to raise $100,000. To join us that night, you can click the botton below:
If you would like to donate you can send your check to our offices or click on this button and give securely on line:
We had to postpone our Annual Memorial Golf Tournament and our new date is October 23rd. If you are a golfer, we hope that you will be eager to join us for that day! We are changing the name of the CFS golf tournament from the Rick King to the Mark Buehrer Memorial Golf Tournament. Mark was a great supporter of CFS and loved the golf tournament. We could always count on Mark to be there and buy up all the silent auction items. Sadly, he passed away earlier this year. Because of his passion for CFS and for the golf tournament, we wanted to rename it in his honor to continue the work of supporting CFS that was started years ago by Rick King, also a great friend of CFS.
You will also see a list of memorials and honorariums in this newsletter. This is always a special list of special people that are being honored and remembered. Several people in the memorials were friends of mine. As I look at the list, I am so thankful for each of the lives they lived and how they lived. It inspires me to want to live better and more faithful!
Thanks again for your support of Christian Family Services. May you continue to adapt and navigate our complicated world in a healthy way. I hope that you will find someone out there, maybe it is a neighbor, a friend, a family member or even a stranger you come in contact with, find a way to make their day a little better!
