We are Bethany and Robert. Robert is from Northern Ireland, Bethany is from America, and we met, fell in love, and got married in Munich, Germany, where we both lived for nine years. We have been married now for thirteen years and moved to St. Louis eight years ago because we wanted to be near family while we grew our own.
Our son came into our life through adoption in 2014 and the past five years have been some of the sweetest of our lives. Robert is the CEO of a non-profit and Bethany is a program coordinator at a university. Our son is in preschool and loves to pretend to be a Jedi, a superhero, a firefighter and a “fast car”, sometimes all at once. This summer he went to his first baseball game, and now won’t use a t-ball stand because he “wants to do it like the Cardinals do it!”
On weekends we like to go hiking, or go to the zoo or the art museum, although our favorite day is a lazy weekend morning playing with the neighborhood kids (while the parents drink coffee on the porch), then heading to Bethany's parents house for dinner with the cousins.
Our Message To You
We are grateful you have taken the time to get to know us. Hopefully this gives you an idea of who we are, what we love, and how we live life. Our journey through infertility was heart-wrenching, but it led us to our son John and to this special and beautiful place of continuing to build our family through adoption, and we are excited to be here. We know that all parents want the very best for their children, and also that life doesn’t always work out the way that we plan. We want you to know that we have full hearts and open arms for this new addition to our family. We want this child to have all of the love, knowledge, and understanding of who they are, where they come from, and how special their story is that we can give.
